EMR & Telecommunications Infrastructure (Projects) Section, Regulation and Compliance Branch – Enquiries related to Schedule 3 of the Telecommunications Act 1997 (carriers powers and immunities to install mostly low-impact facilities) and enquiries about the Telecommunications (Low-impact facilities) Determination 1997.
Enquiries about the Telecommunications Code of Practice 1997, which covers the requirements carriers must meet during the inspection of land, the installation of certain types of telecommunications facilities, including low-impact facilities, and the maintenance of facilities.
Complaints and enquiries about carrier compliance with the ACIF C564:2004 Deployment of Mobile Phone Network Infrastructure Code (the DMPNI Code), which covers the notification and consultation obligations of carriers when installing infrastructure without local planning approval and provision of information on request.

The Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA), a Federal Government agency, is part of the Health & Ageing portfolio.
Enquiries about health effects of electromagnetic radiation (EMR) can be directed to ARPANSA.
Members of the public who believe they have suffered ill-effects as a result of exposure to EMR can lodge a written complaint to ARPANSA's Electromagnetic Radiation Complaints Register.

Mobile Carriers Forum
The Mobile Carriers Forum (MCF) is a separately funded forum within the Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association (AMTA), formed by the four mobile phone carriers who deploy and/or own the network infrastructure providing mobile coverage to most Australians.
Contact the MCF about enquiries relating to 3G technology, base station deployment and associated policies, the National Site Archive (NSA) and MCF guidelines on better visual outcomes for low-impact facilities.
The NSA provides a listing of all new mobile telephone base station facilities built or upgraded since April 2003. Over time the NSA will provide a listing of all the mobile telephone base stations in Australia. It may provide information on EME levels for a given facility. It is located at www.rfnsa.com.au

Australia Centre for Radiofrequency Bioeffects Research (ACRBR)
The Australian Centre for Radiofrequency Bioeffects Research (ACRBR) is a consortium consisting of RMIT University, Swinburne University of Technology, Telstra Research Laboratories and DEPM in Melbourne, and in Adelaide - the Institute of Medical and Veterinary Sciences. ACRBR brings together basic sciences, clinical and public health disciplines. The Centre conducts a broad program of research into possible biological or health effects of exposure to radio waves, particularly from mobile telephones.
